What you can do
Draw on a real-scale canvas
Rectangles, circles, freehand shapes, walls, openings, text and dimension lines on a metric or imperial grid.
Import any plan
Use a survey map, site plan, photo, sketch or PDF as the background and calibrate it with two points and one known distance.
Instant areas and lengths
Surface area, perimeter and segment lengths update live as you draw — ideal for paving, lawns, fences and terraces.
Utility and pipe routing
Lay out drainage, water, sewage and electrical lines with segment lengths and vertex angles.
Layers
Keep buildings, garden, driveway and utilities on separate layers that you can show, hide and lock.
PDF export, no installation
Works in the browser on desktop, tablet and phone. Export to PDF or save the project file to continue later.
Frequently asked questions
Is TerraDraft free?
Yes. The drawing and measuring editor runs for free in your web browser — there is nothing to install.
How do I calculate my plot area from a map or photo?
Import the image, use the Calibrate tool to mark two points whose real distance you know (for example a boundary length from the survey map), then trace the outline. The area and perimeter appear immediately.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. TerraDraft works in modern browsers on desktop, tablet and phone, with a touch-friendly layout on small screens.
Which units are supported?
Metric (m, cm) and imperial (ft, in). You can switch the unit system at any time.
